Murder to become king... did it really happen?

The real Macbeth killed (or at least led the men who killed) the real Duncan I in 1040. Macbeth was killed by the future Malcolm III who became king of Scotland following the ination of Lulach (Macbeth’s stepson), also killed by Malcolm. Malcolm was also killed, but not by his successor, he died at the hands of the Northumbrians, a constant enemy.
